In recent years Columbus Ohio has gone from a city with older, tired shopping malls and plazas to a destination center for fabulous fashion and amenities. With the opening of Polaris Fashion Place and Easton Town Center, shoppers can find all the items they want and need right in Central Ohio.
Polaris Fashion Place
Polaris Fashion Place is located north of Columbus, just off of Interstate 71, north of I-270. The area is filled with shopping plazas and restaurants. Columbus is known as emblematic of Middle America, and every type of restaurant is located here.
In the center of it all is the Fashion Place, an indoor mall with six large department stores as anchors. Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, JCPenney, Sears, and the newest, Von Maur, offer clothing and other specialty items from the latest designers. The Great Indoors specializes in things for the home, with the finest appliances, kitchen and bath furnishing, and decorator touches.
In between the anchors, the mall is filled with specialty stores for men, women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, books, greeting cards, jewelry, electronics, and much more. There is a food hall with counter restaurants for quick eats, and three full-service restaurants in the mall, Molly Woo’s, Lindey’s, and California Pizza Kitchen. There is a vast parking lot and valet parking is available.
Easton Town Center
A short drive from Polaris is Easton Town Center. Located on the northeast side of the city along Interstate 270, Easton is a different type of shopping area. Easton Station is an indoor mall, with some shops, but surrounding it is a huge area with many upscale shops and restaurants. On the edges of the district are department stores Macy’s and Nordstrom’s.
On the other end is a restaurant row featuring P. F. Chang’s and The Cheesecake Factory. In between are over 150 specialty shops, featuring designer fashions and unique items. The list is long and varied, and includes Coach, Sharper Image, dozens of apparel stores, designer shoes salons and accessories stores.
There is a 30-screen AMC movie theater and a comedy club. In addition to the restaurants mentioned above, there are more than 30 places to eat, including fine dining at Smith & Wollensky, and Mexican food at Abuelo’s.
There are two large parking garages as well as street parking, and a number of hotels on the attached roads. Valet parking is available. Within a few blocks are numerous other shopping plazas with even more great shopping.
