Cleveland’s Eastside upscale shopping destination

Shop at Legacy Village and Beachwood Place

A guide to Legacy Village and Beachwood Place, shopping centers on the east side of Greater Cleveland.

In the fashionable suburb of Beachwood, on the east side of Greater Cleveland, are two shopping centers that contain a large number of high fashion apparel stores and fantastic eateries. Together they form a great shopping and dining destination.

Both centers are located on Cedar Road, a few miles west of Interstate 271. Beachwood Place is the Southeast corner of Cedar and Richmond, and Legacy Village is on the Northwest corner.

Beachwood Place

Beachwood Place is an indoor mall, recently renovated and filled with department stores, specialty shops, and upscale fashion choices. Sak’s Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and Dillards’s anchor the mall, with over 100 stores and places to eat filling in the two floors.

There are eight shoe stores in the mall, including Steve Madden, 9 West, and Clarks England/Bostonian. Many of the other apparel stores carry shoes as well. There are eight jewelry stores, and more than a dozen specialty shops containing health and beauty items. The list includes L’Occitane, Sephora, and Victoria Secret Beauty.

There are specialty stores for all your needs, including Swarovski, Cleveland Trunk Company, and Moochie, with items for your favorite pet.

A brand new food court has your mall favorites, and Maggiano’s Little Italy is a great place for some pasta or other Mediterranean dishes. There are vast free parking lots, and free covered parking on either end of the mall.

Legacy Village

Legacy Village is an open-air shopping area, and, similar to Easton Center in Columbus, Ohio, the stores line streets within the center. The area has over 50 stores and restaurants. Here, the accent is on fine and fun dining, with upscale restaurants Bar Louie and Brio Tuscan Grille.

The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, and Claddagh Irish Pub offer their expected specialties, along with Asian food at Stir Crazy, and fondue at The Melting Pot. You can grab a quick bite at Chipotle Mexican Grill. There are stores where you can order a smoothie, some gelato, or the well-known offerings of Starbucks.

Men’s, women’s, and children’s fashions are available at many stores, including Coldwater Creek, Talbots, Christopher & Banks, Joseph A. Bank Clothiers, and Janie and Jack.

Home furnishings are available at Crate and Barrel, The Bombay Company, Restoration Hardware, and Arhaus Furniture, and there is something for everyone at Dick’s Sporting Goods, which features a giant climbing wall. Joseph-Beth Booksellers is a Cleveland original, and the Contessa Gallery displays fine art for sale.

Free parking is available at lots surrounding the Village, and limited parking is available on the streets. The guest relations booth doubles as the location for valet parking, which is available for $5. Summer brings free concerts in the evenings, and in December the center is bedecked with all manner of holiday decorations.

Either Beachwood Place or Legacy Village is a great place to spend the day, but since they are so close, you can take a little extra time and enjoy great shopping and dining at both.
